What you can embed
- The daily puzzle. The same puzzle as on the daily puzzle page, new every day at midnight, Swedish time. The box switches to the new puzzle by itself, so the code never needs to change.
- A puzzle. Choose a theme and a difficulty from our chess puzzles. Readers can take a hint or see the solution.
- A position. Paste a FEN and add an arrow and a caption. Handy when a post or a worksheet needs to show a move.
- An opening. The main line move by move, with the notes from the opening pages.
- A game. Every game on LaviChess gets its own link. Paste it, and your readers can step through the moves.
Build your box
Choose what the box should show, its size and its colors. Then copy the code and paste it where you want the board.
LaviChess's daily puzzle. The box moves on to the next one by itself at midnight, Swedish time.
Width 300–700 pixels. The height follows the width.
Here's how it will look
Pictures and GIFs
Need a picture instead, for a document, a worksheet or social media? Below games and openings, and on the analysis board, there are buttons to download the position as a picture (PNG) and the moves as a GIF, and the builder above can give you any position as a picture. The GIF is made in your browser and is never sent to us.
For schools and clubs
The box sets no cookies, saves nothing in the browser and has no tracking, no ads and no chat. Nobody needs to log in. It works in blogging tools, website builders and learning platforms that allow iframe code, and it works well on an interactive whiteboard.
The daily puzzle is a good way to start a class or a club meeting: everyone solves the same puzzle, and then you go through the solution together. Anyone just starting out will find lessons and the rules on LaviChess.
Questions
Does it cost anything?
No. The boxes are free to use, for clubs, schools and companies too.
Does the link to LaviChess have to stay?
Yes, please. The link at the bottom of the box belongs there. It's how people find us, and it costs you nothing.
The box doesn't show up on my page. Why?
Some blogging tools strip out iframe code, or want it pasted into an HTML block of its own. Also check that the address in the code starts with https://lavichess.com/embed/.
Can I change the size?
Yes. The width can be 300–700 pixels, and the content adapts. If the box is wider than it is tall, the board goes on the left. On a narrow screen the box shrinks to the width of the screen.
