Setting up the puzzles…
New puzzles every day
Twenty new puzzles, from easy to hard. The same for everyone.
How it works
Every night at midnight Swedish time, twenty new puzzles come out. Four at each level, from easy puzzles for beginners to ones that make experienced players sweat. Everyone gets the same ones, so you can compare with friends and family.
You solve them one at a time. If you get stuck, ask for a hint or look at the solution, and then move on. After each puzzle you see who in the house solves it. The squares at the top show how it went: green for solved with no mistakes, a green outline for solved after a mistake or a hint, and red when you looked at the solution.
These puzzles don't change your puzzle rating, and you don't need an account. How you did is kept only in your browser.
Missed a day?
The past week's days are linked just below the puzzles. The puzzles of the last few weeks also turn up in Puzzle training and the Puzzle Ladder. Today's twenty are only here.
Where do the puzzles come from?
The puzzles come from Lichess, the free chess site, which shares its puzzles with the whole world: positions from real games, picked the same way as every puzzle on LaviChess. These were fetched on November 1, 2026.
